A Nigerian businessman is battling for life at a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil after he was allegedly stabbed by his lover as they were holed up in a house obeying government’s lockdown order over COVID-19.

Emeka Ezequias Okoye, who hails from Nnewi, Southeast-Nigeria was stabbed by his South-African girlfriend, Elizabeth Mama Bosman during a whole night of arguments and fights, according to the neighbours.

“This man has always been beating her whenever he comes here. I don’t know how they could live like that. This lady lives with her two kids here. It is not a surprise that it ended up this way, she should learn to be honest with men too. She has always been in the midst of men. It is sad,” Adriana Bastos, a neighbour to Elizabeth said.

Emeka, nicknamed Oyinbo among the Nigerians in Brazil has been described as a very jealous person who couldn’t stand seeing his South African girlfriend with any other person. He has allegedly been seen on several occasions exchanging taps and fights with Elizabeth in the streets of Sao Paulo.

Although Elizabeth shot a video of the seen with blood all over the house, as she was shouting that Emeka committed suicide.

Emeka, who was found unconscious in the apartment, has lived in Brazil for 7. He had lived in Europe and other parts of the world before coming to Brazil.

According to eyewitnesses, Emeka and Elizabeth once had formal marital engagement party where they both exchanged wedding rings, but the relationship suffered a sudden break-up due to alleged uncontrollable jealous attitudes of Emeka who could not afford to see Elizabeth in the midst of other men.

“The man has been under quarantine with her in the apartment, I knew the devil would do his work before the quarantine ends,” Anderson Leite, a neighbour also told the Chief Detective.
